Trainee Estimator / Estimator – Bedford A leading flooring subcontractor in Bedford has an opportunity for a Trainee Estimator or Estimator to join their commercial team. They are financially strong, expanding, and known for exceptional quality and service. This is a great role for someone who wants to learn, progress and grow in a fast-paced commercial environment. You will be joining a team of six, consisting of two Business Development Managers and four Estimators.

Hybrid working is available after a training period. They operate across Airports, Healthcare, Defence, Leisure, Commercial, Hotels, Education and Residential, delivering first-class installations on time, every time.

They work with Tier 1 and Tier 2 Contractors and have a strong presence across London and the Home Counties. The commercial team enjoys a great working environment with plenty of experience, support, banter and regular social activities. Everyone gets along well, and there is always lots happening socially. Projects typically range between £5,000 and £2,000,000.

The Role – Trainee Estimator / Estimator This is a full-time, office-based role with regular site visits. You will assist with and develop skills in:
Reviewing drawings and specifications Quantity take-offs Preparing estimates and costings Pricing bills of quantities and producing lump-sum tenders Supplier and subcontractor enquiries Comparing quotations and supporting procurement Assisting with tender submissions Supporting contract administration and commercial reporting Carrying out site surveys 1–2 times per week Working on projects requiring security clearance You will typically manage 7–8 live tenders at any one time, valued between £50,000 and £1.5m.
