Metrology Engineer
We’re looking for a skilled Metrology Engineer to support our Quality and Manufacturing teams. You’ll provide full metrology services across NPI, product investigations, capability studies, and process validation.
This role is to cover Double Days
- Earlies
- Monday to Thursday: 05:15–13:45
Friday: 05:15–10:45.
Lates Monday to Thursday: 14:00–22:30 and then Friday: 11:00–16:30
What you’ll do- Develop and implement new metrology solutions.
- Create and manage CMM and vision system programs.
- Support new measurement activities and produce related documentation.
- Perform first article inspections and reporting.
- Calibrate gauges and measurement equipment.
- Work to ISO
13485, GMP and FDA 21 CFR Part 820 requirements. - Support CAPA activities within required timelines.
- Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or strong inspection experience.
- Excellent understanding of measurement techniques and first‑principle metrology.
- Able to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Competent with CMMs, vision systems, and inspection tools (MCOSMOS desirable).
- Strong problem‑solving and report‑writing skills.
- Accurate, organised, proactive, and confident working independently or in a team.
- The ability to identify, analyze and resolve measurement issues and generate solutions.
- The ability to make informed decisions in relation to conformity.
- The ability to create Technical Reports.
- Experience of working in Medical, Orthopaedic or a highly regulated industry (desirable)
- A competitive salary £30,000-£35,000 plus shift allowance and a discretionary annual bonus
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
