Job Summary and Responsibilities
Mercy Medical Group (MMG), a multi-specialty group with more than 500 healthcare providers in the Sacramento region, is seeking skilled and compassionate pediatricians for our busy Pediatrics Department at our Citrus Heights, CA clinic. As a pediatrician, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to infants, children, and adolescents. Your expertise and dedication will contribute to the health and well‑being of the community’s youngest members.
Well baby nursery rounding is a requirement for this opportunity.

- Well Baby Nursery Rounding
- Conduct thorough medical examinations, including growth and development assessments, to diagnose and treat various pediatric conditions.
- Provide preventive care, vaccinations, and immunizations to promote overall health and prevent illnesses.
- Evaluate and manage acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and infections in pediatric patients.
- Develop personalized treatment plans and monitor patients’ progress over time, adjusting interventions as needed.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.
- Educate parents and caretakers on child health, nutrition, safety, and other relevant topics.
- Conduct screenings for developmental delays, behavioral issues, and mental health concerns, and provide appropriate referrals and interventions.
- Keep accurate and up‑to‑date medical records, including patient histories, examination findings, and treatment plans.
- Stay informed about the latest medical advancements, evidence‑based practices, and pediatric research. Adhere to ethical and professional standards, maintain patient confidentiality, and ensure compliance with relevant healthcare regulations.
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board certification or eligibility in pediatrics.
- Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of California.
- Excellent clinical skills and knowledge of pediatric diseases, treatments, and best practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, parents, and healthcare team members.
- Empathy and patience when working with children and their families.
- Attention to detail and ability to make accurate diagnoses based on comprehensive evaluations.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with the latest advancements in pediatric medicine.
