We are supporting a major State of California modernization effort that is rebuilding large scale data and analytics platforms on Google Cloud from the ground up. This engagement requires a hands on Google Cloud Platform Architect who has led real enterprise implementations and understands how to design secure compliant and scalable GCP environments in a public sector setting.

Oakland, CA or Sacramento, CA local candidates only. Long-term multi-year contract.

• We are hiring a Google Cloud Platform Architect to support a large scale State of California modernization initiative for a major consulting organization.
• This is a long term engagement focused on designing delivering and optimizing enterprise grade GCP data and analytics platforms in a highly regulated public sector environment.
• This role requires hands on architectural leadership and ownership of production systems.

• Lead end to end GCP architecture from requirements through production deployment.
• Design and implement cloud native solutions on Google Cloud Platform with a strong focus on data platforms and analytics.
• Architect and optimize solutions using Big Query, Dataflow and/or Pub/Sub.
• Support analytics and visualization using Looker.
• Design secure and compliant GCP environments aligned with State of California standards.
• Drive performance scalability reliability and cost optimization.
• Provide architectural guidance and mentorship to engineering teams.
• Produce architecture diagrams, technical documentation and design artifacts aligned with public sector delivery standards.

• Five or more years of hands on cloud architecture experience with GCP, strongly preferred.
• Proven delivery of enterprise scale GCP implementations.
• Strong experience with Big Query, Dataflow or Pub/Sub and core GCP services including IAM, networking and security.
• Experience supporting regulated or public sector environments.
• Ability to clearly communicate architectural decisions to both technical and non technical stakeholders.

• Google Cloud Professional Architect Certification preferred but not requiredli>
• Experience with Looker, Apigee, Dataplex or Data Fusion.
• Familiarity with State of California cloud and security frameworks such as NIST, SIMM or CDT standards.
