Job DescriptionDuties and responsibilities may vary with company requirements and specific Area requirements. In general, the Area Manager has authority and responsibility for the proper and efficient functioning of projects and other functions within his or her Area.
Key responsibilities include:
- Corporate Planning
- Develops a 5‑year plan for the Area.
- Develops a Fiscal Year Area Plan.
- Supports strategic planning for the market segment team.
- Business Development and Marketing
- Establishes and updates hit and prospect lists.
- Conducts research, develops relationships, and prepares proposals.
- Implements new marketing strategies.
- Project Operations
- Solicits input from the market segment team.
- Manages project start‑up, client liaison, quality management, reporting, and close‑out.
- Maintains client relationships and verifies satisfaction.
- Finance and Accounting
- Develops Fiscal Year GA and BD budget and monitors budget vs. actual.
- Approves GS & BD expense reports and vendors.
- Handles client billing and time‑sheet approval.
- Human Resources Development
- Recruits, determines salaries, bonuses, and manages layoff/discharge processes.
- Supports professional development and mentoring.
- Implements corporate administrative policies.
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or an MBA/Business Degree.
- CCM certification and active membership in CMAA.
- AIA, PE, and/or GC license.
- Experience in construction management operations and sales.
- Experience managing construction management services.
- Equivalent education and experience to that required of a Project Director.
Salary range: $220,000 – $245,000, based on education, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
