Special Agent:
Psychology/Counseling Expertise

Join the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as a Special Agent specializing in psychology and counseling. Upskill your crisis‑intervention background by working on high‑profile investigations that protect our nation from cyberattacks, terrorism, fraud, and evolving threats.

In this role you will employ your expertise in behavioral analysis and social services to uncover critical information, problem‑solve complex cases, and collaborate with elite professionals nationwide and internationally.

Salary Level
  • $99,461.00–$

Salary is commensurate with base, locality, and availability pay.

Major Duties
  • Plan and conduct investigations of potential violations of federal laws, cybersecurity, and public safety.
  • Exercise judgment, resourcefulness, and versatility to meet investigative demands.
  • Create and maintain effective liaison relationships with federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and international law‑enforcement agencies.
  • Maintain a level of physical fitness required to perform law‑enforcement duties.
Key Requirements
  • U.S. citizen.
  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Meet the FBI’s Employment Eligibility requirements.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (preferably in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field) from a U.S. accredited institution.
  • All degrees must be verified by submitting college transcripts.
