Rate of Pay

Our Tesco colleague rate starts from £13.28 an hour, increasing to £14.55 for stores within the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.

We policy new colleagues to join us with a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week. Flexibility is available – 12 to 16 hours – and we adapt to your availability when it closely matches our advertised windows.

Shift schedules are published with a 3‑week notice. We support flexible working and will schedule your contracted hours within the advertised availability windows.

• Serve customers with passion and pride, providing great natural service at the point of sale.
• Show knowledge of products and services available in the store.
• Carry out work across the store, including service, picking and replenishment areas.
• Implement training safely and effectively to deliver superior customer experience.
• Make decisions that meet customer needs at the right time.
• Participate in seasonal, community and charity events to create an inclusive atmosphere.
• Track store performance, understand your contribution and collaborate to drive service, sales, reduce waste, shrink and increase profit.
• Handle products carefully to maintain quality and ensure safe delivery to customers.
• Live Tesco values, make everyone feel welcome and consistently follow policies.
• May accept deliveries into the store when required.
