GENERAL OVERVIEW
This job is responsible for physics leadership in the assigned region across the radiation oncology network.
- Performs responsibilities of a level II medical physicist. 50%
- Develops, oversees, and manages standard operating procedures in quality assurance/control evaluations on radiation producing machines and patient care in the assigned region across the radiation oncology network. 20%
- Develops, oversees, and manages physics staff and programs in the assigned region across the radiation oncology network. 10%
- Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies and standards in the assigned region across the radiation oncology network. 10%
- Develops, oversees, and manages special clinical research and development projects as assigned. 10%
- Other duties as assigned or requested.
Required
- Master's degree in Physics or related field
- 6 years of experience in clinical experience as a medical physicist
- CPR – American Heart Association
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- One of the following certifications:
- Therapeutic Medical Physics Certification - American Board of Radiology (A )
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging Physics Certification - American Board of Medical Physicists (ABMP)
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging Certification - Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine (CCPM)
- Radiation Oncology Physics Certification - Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine (CCPM)
- Magnetic Resonance Safety Certification – American Board of Magnetic Resonance Safety (ABMRS)
Preferred
- Doctorate's degree in Physics or related field
- At least 10 publications in medical physics
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work independently in a challenging environment and take appropriate action.
