Floating Medical Assistant – North Georgia!

Main Street Family Care is growing and we're looking to hire a fast, fun and friendly Full-Time
Floating Medical Assistant to work in multiple clinics in Cumming, Jasper and East Ellijay cities
! Our Medical Assistants
provide a great service to our patients providing them with excellent care. Services provided to the public include urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine. The ideal applicant will be able to assist the onsite provider with patient intake, assessment, treatment, and discharge.
Flexibility is a must!

Responsibilities:

• Clinical
  • Prepare examination and treatment rooms with necessary instruments
  • Take patient histories and vital signs
  • Prepare patient for examination and treatment
  • Dispense medication as directed
  • Instruct and educate patients about discharge instructions if applicable
  • Handle telephone calls from clients, patients, prospective patients, physicians, pharmacies, as well as other staff
  • Provide solutions to patient concerns within the scope of position
• Clerical
  • Patient intake including scheduling, registration, insurance verification, and collections
  • Provide accurate and timely documentation to staff, insurance carriers and companies
  • Correspondence by phone, in person, or in writing regarding patient care, i.e. insurance carriers, physicians, non-clinic physicians
  • Maintain patient records for clinical use, medical records use, billing use, physicians’ review, etc.
  • Assist with scheduling of test and treatments
  • Complete opening and closing procedures
• Other Duties
  • Maintain disposable and non-disposable supplies, i.e. wound care supplies, laundry, etc.
  • Annual training as needed
  • Help produce and maintain patient education instruction hand-outs
  • Maintain clean, professional working/treatment area
  • Accept and assume responsibility for special projects as they arise
  • All other duties as assigned

Rotating

Schedule:

• Clinic staff will be split into two shifts:
  Shift A and Shift
  
  B. Each shift will work on a rotating schedule that includes every other weekend, sample below:
• Main Street Clinic Hours
  • Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
• Kids Street Clinic Hours (Montgomery, Pelham, Mobile only)
  • Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
• Floating Medical Assistants are guaranteed 30+ hours per work week, but flexibility for the schedule is a must!

Main Street and Kids Street clinic hours subject to change.

Qualifications:

• Minimum High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Prior Medical Assisting experience or education is beneficial, but not required

Compensation and Benefits:

• Position begins at $14/ hr.
