Ensures hot and cold deli foods are prepared according to Company standards. Promotes customer service by taking and filling customer orders and maintaining attractive product presentation.

• Assist deli personnel with slicing, weighing, packaging, labeling, and preparing hot and cold deli food under supervision. (18+)
• Clean, assemble, and prepare equipment for operation and inspect for proper working order under supervision. (18+)
• Adhere to quality control and food safety standards by stocking and rotating deli products.
• Stack pallets and sort product into correct locations according to Company efficiency standards under supervision.
• Provide friendly, customer-service-oriented assistance by greeting customers, answering questions, and taking orders by phone and in person.
• Promote product sales through suggestive selling initiatives.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work and shopping environment by following safety procedures.

• Ability to learn new systems, methods, or processes.
• Ability to read and operate digital equipment, meters, dials, and calibrated scales.
• Ability to safely operate hazardous tools and equipment such as a slicer (18+).
• Ability to safely operate and maintain department equipment (18+).
• Ability to safely work with objects with sharp edges such as meat slicers, knives, box cutters, etc. (18+).
• Ability to use non-precision and precision hand tools under supervision.
• Ability to work well with fellow partners and promote a team environment.
• Ability to effectively communicate with customers and partners in written and verbal form.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Attention to potential hazards and timely remedy or warning when needed.
• Report hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor.

• Minimum of 16 years of age required; 18+ to operate and clean motorized equipment.
• 21+ to drive for Company business in accordance with the BGC Business Driver Policy.
• Typically involves on-the-job training.
• Food Handler certification required.

• Close vision, distance vision, depth perception, or the ability to focus; stand or walk; use hands for reaching or handling; talk and hear.
• Frequent fine finger movements; frequent bending, kneeling, squatting or stooping.
• Push, pull, maneuver, or lift up to 40 lbs frequently and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
• Attendance at work is required.

• Retail store setting.
• Exposure to extreme cold and heat (non-weather) frequently.
• Exposure to wet, slippery or damp conditions and to cleaning agents.
• Exposure to equipment with sharp blades or edges under supervision.
• Quiet to moderate noise level.
