Art School Director – New Jersey

One River School of Art + Design is seeking an experienced leader to grow our contemporary art community.

$65,000 – $75,000 per year (plus bonus and benefits).

The School Director will ensure high‑quality service for students and parents, combine art education with entrepreneurship, and expand the school community.

• Manage full‑time and part‑time staff and set goals to retain and grow student community.
• Collaborate with educators to recruit, onboard, train, and engage teachers, driving excellent classroom experience.
• Drive student retention through onboarding, parent communication, and new methods for referrals and loyalty.
• Maximize enrollment by marketing, lead follow‑up, closing inquiries, and school tours.
• Plan and analyze local advertising efforts, events, partnerships, and press to generate inquiries.
• Develop partnerships with local businesses, schools, PTA, and community members to increase enrollment and presence.
• Curate, promote, and execute exhibitions and cultivate local art collectors.
• Maintain building and equipment.
• Track income, expenses, and revenue; work with upper management to set revenue goals.

• Bachelor’s Degree in a visual arts related field from an accredited four‑year college or university.
• Master’s Degree in Business, Art History, or Education is a large plus.
• 5+ years experience in a leadership/management role in a service‑industry setting.
• Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to network, collaborate, and build relationships with clients, partners, staff, remote colleagues, and others.
• Passion for the One River School brand.

• Competitive salary ($65,000–$75,000) with quarterly bonus $8,000–$12,000 when achieving targets.
