Substation Protection and Control (P&C) Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Substation P&C Engineer to join our Energy & Power Group in North America, supporting our mission to accelerate decarbonization and utility modernization.

• Interface with utility/developer clients on substation protection and control methodologies.
• Develop design deliverables for utility upgrades, greenfield/brownfield and AIS/GIS substations, offshore wind facilities, and developer interconnection projects.
• Act as an independent technical advisor representing owner’s interests on major programs and network overhauls.
• Provide engineering oversight, collect technical data, perform site visits, and support construction.
• Mentor team members across North America within the Global Integrated Delivery framework.

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (Master’s counts as 1 year professional experience).
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the United States, with the ability to obtain additional PE licenses if required.
• Minimum 8 years of direct Substation Protection & Controls design experience with a utility or consulting organization.
• Advanced knowledge of protection philosophies and relaying functions for High‑Voltage substations.
• Experience in substation protection design and drafting (line, transformer, breaker, AC/DC schematics, relay panel wiring).
• Ability to design SCADA communication, perform AC/DC station calculations, voltage‑drop calculations, and cable sizing.
• Familiarity with Relay Settings acSELerator Quick Set Software and CADD platforms such as Autodesk or Bentley.
• Strong communication, technical writing, teamwork, and presentation skills.
