Structural Design Technician – Jacobs
Base pay range: $61,100 – $84,000 per year.
Location:
Anywhere in the United States. We seek candidates near a Jacobs office, but the best candidates will be hired regardless of location.
We are looking for a driven and curious Structural Design Technician to support our Built Environment team. As a key member of our Advanced Manufacturing team, you will grow your skills and collaborate with clients and construction trade partners. You will develop design concepts, create models from scratch, and coordinate designs considering existing conditions and other disciplines. You will convey structural requirements through traditional 2‑D paper deliverables and/or BIM 3‑D Revit models, and you may provide leadership for a small project with a team of designers.
Responsibilities- Develop design concepts and create models from scratch.
- Coordinate designs to consider existing conditions and other disciplines.
- Convey structural requirements to the construction team through traditional 2‑D paper deliverables and/or BIM 3‑D Revit models.
- Provide leadership for a small project with a team of designers, establishing project standards, procedures, training, and building team morale.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of drafting/design experience in the structural field.
- At least 1 year of experience with Revit.
- At least 3 years of AutoCAD design experience.
- At least 2 years of Revit experience.
- Experience working on traditional steel and concrete structures.
- Experience leading a team of designers.
- Experience with healthcare/institutional/commercial buildings.
- Experience with Navisworks and Bluebeam.
