As a Universal Banker you will provide a full range of banking services to retail customers, including both transactional and non-transactional processes. Offers customers more personal banking options while still providing traditional services and assists in reaching all goals set for the branch.

• Process all banking transactions including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, cashing checks, money orders, selling money orders, gift and bank checks, processing loan payments and safe deposit box rentals. All transactions are processed through Columbia Bank’s on-line terminals.
• Open new deposit and checking accounts and explain products to customers. Handle deceased accounts. Maintain files and documentation of daily platform work. Assist customers with safe deposit boxes and explain all products and services, including CDs renegotiation.
• Discuss personal financial needs with customers, make recommendations, cross-sell products and services, and coordinate with other bank departments as required. Provide in-person or phone support to answer inquiries, resolve problems, and ensure customer satisfaction. Explain online banking features and usage.
• Prepare daily proof sheet at close of business and assist with end-of-day procedures, including branch consolidation and document imaging of required work.
• Maintain accurate customer and account records; update safe deposit box records, back office work, and check ordering; maintain branch files.
• Make referrals to Wealth Management, First Jersey Title, Mortgage Origination, and other departments as appropriate.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• High school diploma required or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance preferred.
• 1-2 years of retail or customer service experience required.
• Interpersonal, time management, organizational and PC skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Ability to work weekends as needed or scheduled.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
• Candidates must attend mandatory training; continued employment is contingent upon passing training classes.

Columbia Bank provides training to help you excel. Universal Banker positions require part-time or full-time training for 10 business days. Training schedules are based on availability.

Monday to Friday: 8:30am until close, 40 hours; alternating Saturdays: 8:30am until close based on business needs.
