About the Role

As a Senior HR Generalist, you’ll play a critical role in shaping the employee experience and partnering with leaders to drive a culture of collaboration, accountability, and growth.

This position is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, loves solving complex challenges, and wants to make a real impact. You’ll combine hands‑on HR expertise with strategic partnership, ensuring compliance, fostering engagement, and aligning HR initiatives with Turtle’s business goals. This position is based in New Jersey at our corporate office in Clark, NJ.

What You’ll Do
  • Serve as the go‑to resource for employee relations, leading investigations and ensuring fair, consistent, and legally compliant outcomes.
  • Partner with managers and leaders to provide coaching and guidance across all areas of the HR function, including performance management, employee relations, workforce planning, talent development, engagement strategies, organizational design, and change management initiatives, while effectively navigating and supporting operations within a union/non‑union environment.
  • Analyze trends and recommend proactive strategies to strengthen engagement and minimize risk.
  • Support HR programs including policy development, compliance training, and organizational development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with managers/leadership to implement the strategic plan as set by the VP of HR, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Administer and coordinate Workers’ Compensation claims, leave of absence programs (FMLA, ADA, state‑specific), and serve as a liaison for workplace safety initiatives to ensure compliance and employee well‑being.
  • Support talent acquisition efforts by partnering with hiring managers to ensure a seamless candidate experience.
  • Analyze HR metrics and workforce data using Excel, analytics tools, and Power BI to identify trends, improve processes, and provide actionable insights to leadership.
  • Champion employee engagement and culture initiatives, including recognition programs, DEI efforts, and feedback mechanisms to foster a positive work environment.
  • Leverage ADP Compensation Services for payroll and compensation‑related processes.
  • Utilize Fresh service ticketing system to manage and resolve HR support requests efficiently.
  • Work effectively within a matrix organization and collaborate across multiple time zones, within the US, Canada and Mexico.
What You’ll Bring
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required;
    Master’s degree or HR certification preferred.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of employment law, HR best practices, and regulatory compliance.
