RN Home Health Weekend – WVU Medicine

Responsibilities
  • Direct and indirect nursing care of patients in the home.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care as a case manager in collaboration with the patient, family, and inter‑disciplinary team.
  • Perform home health aide functions including basic patient care, patient teaching, and medication coordination.
  • Communicate patient care problems to administrative staff and team members as needed for continuity of care.
  • Complete OASIS documentation and recertification per federal and Medicare guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Education/Certification – Current RN license in the state of service or multi‑state RN license via eNLC; valid driver’s license; CPR certified within 30 days of hire.
  • Experience – One year of Home Care Nursing and at least 2 years of prior nursing experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting patients of all weights.
  • Must read and write legibly in English; hearing and visual acuity within normal range.
  • Ability to lift 20–50 pounds occasionally and 10–25 pounds frequently; may need to move objects up to 10 pounds constantly.
  • Must operate a motor vehicle safely.
Working Environment
  • Exposure to bodily fluids, sharps, contaminants, high stress, and unpredictable home environments.
  • Must travel extensively to patient homes and handle adverse weather and road conditions.
Skills & Abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication; ability to perform complex mental activity and adapt to varying workloads.
  • Knowledge of safety policies; IV skills; ability to work weekends, holidays, and all shifts.
Working Hours

36 hours per week (non‑exempt).
