Trilogy Innovations is seeking Senior Software Developers to remotely support our federal customer. This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing team, while taking part in a multi-year initiative to modernize our federal customers’ large-scale IT systems. This role requires at least Secret Security Clearance, and primary work location is remote.

This position can be on the on-call list one (1) week out of every four (4) weeks. On‑call personnel will acknowledge contact for on‑call assistance (phone call, text, etc.) within fifteen (15) minutes of the contact. On‑call personnel shall be within a reasonable distance of their provided secure laptop and shall log into their secure laptop and begin assessing/diagnosing/troubleshooting the request for on‑call assistance within sixty (60) minutes of the contact.

Role Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 8 years of work experience.
• Java (OOP) Full Stack Development with proficiency programming in Java
• Experience with Containerization and Kubernetes
• Ability for on‑call support. These positions can expect to be on the on‑call list one (1) week out of every four (4) weeks.

Must Have

Skills:

• Proficient with Java Object‑Oriented Programming
• Experience with Cloud‑native architectures
  • Event‑driven architectures; streaming (preferred).
• Experience with Kubernetes. Automating the deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications
• Experience with large‑scale systems

Nice to Have

Skills:

• Experience with Apache Kafka
  • Pub/Sub (Publish, subscribe).
  • Streaming experience
  • Event sourcing
• Experience with Open Telemetry
• Experience with AWS
• Experience with Atlassian Tool Suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develops, creates, and modifies general computer applications software or specialized utility programs.
• Analyzes user needs and develops software solutions.
• Designs or customizes software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency.
• Analyzes and designs databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team.
• Researches, designs, develops, and tests operating‑systems level software, compilers, and network distribution software for medical, industrial, military, communications, aerospace, business, scientific, and general computing applications.
• Sets operational specifications and formulates and analyzes software requirements.
• Designs embedded systems software.
• Applies principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.

High‑level objects include, but are not limited to the following:

• Migrate all current‑system functionality from the mainframes and operate within a cloud‑based environment (AWS Gov Cloud)
• Incorporate modern name search capabilities.
• Expand image handling to accept larger files and support additional file formats, such as PDF.
• Transition investigative search to Elasticsearch, providing a faster response and report creation time for law enforcement.
• Build new services to follow a microservices architecture and run within containers using the Open Shift platform.
• Transition database functionality from IBM DB2 to the appropriate cloud data store.
• Update NIEM schemas and IEPDs to allow agencies to use updated functionality and speed up the dot‑delimited message format retirement.
