Job Title

Teacher (Blind/Deaf) – State of Georgia

Provides comprehensive standards‑based instruction to students who are deaf/hard of hearing; responsibilities include assessing and documenting students' communication skills, reading/math skills, independent living skills, and educational/behavioral development; identifying appropriate individualized educational goals; developing and implementing instructional lesson plans; maintaining documentation of student progress; and utilizing appropriate instructional techniques based on individual student needs.

• Must possess or be eligible to obtain Georgia Teacher Certification in the area of Deaf/Hard of Hearing students

• Possesses or is eligible to obtain Georgia Teacher Certification in the grade or content area of the prospective position
• Three years of experience teaching deaf/hard of hearing students
• ASL proficiency at level 3+ or above as measured by the American Sign Language Proficiency Interview (ASLPI)

Paid on the Georgia Teacher Salary Schedule based on teaching certification and creditable years of experience. This is a 10‑month position paid on a 12‑month basis.
