American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring LDRP experience and AR or compact RN licensure.
Details- Work within the Labor and Delivery unit providing care across all aspects of LDRP, including nursery and postpartum care
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
- Rotating weekend coverage required
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Meditech charting system experience preferred
- Facility performs fewer than 100 births per month
- Active RN license, AR or compact, currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, administration of blood and blood products, and maintaining central lines
- Experience with fetal monitoring, including recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Experience assisting with vaginal deliveries and circulating or scrubbing for C-sections
- Experience with antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care and assessment
- Experience administering medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
- Provide comprehensive LDRP nursing care including antepartum, labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn care
- Perform newborn assessments, APGAR scoring, and infant identification and banding
- Support high-risk deliveries and manage obstetric emergencies such as hemorrhage and shock
- Provide lactation and breastfeeding support to postpartum patients
- Assist with surgical procedures including D&C, tubal ligation, and cervical cerclage
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
