The Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the reconstruction phase of fire and water damage restoration projects. This role involves working closely with insurance companies, adjusters, property owners, and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to industry standards.
Key Responsibilities- Assess structural damage and develop a comprehensive reconstruction plan.
- Utilize Xactimate estimating software for scopes of work and adjust budgets as needed.
- Coordinate and oversee subcontractors and skilled trades, ensuring efficient scheduling and high-quality workmanship.
- Monitor project timelines and make adjustments to keep projects on schedule.
- Collaborate with insurance adjusters to align on project scopes, estimates, and supplemental approvals.
- Provide detailed documentation, including before-and-after photos, change orders, and progress reports.
- Negotiate with adjusters on cost discrepancies and advocate for necessary repairs beyond initial scopes.
- Ensure projects adhere to insurance policies and industry standards.
- Act as the primary point of contact for property owners, explaining timelines, budgets, and processes.
- Keep all stakeholders informed of project progress, delays, or changes.
- Address concerns and resolve conflicts between property owners and insurers when necessary.
- Ensure all reconstruction work complies with local building codes and permits.
- Enforce OSHA safety regulations and job site best practices.
- Conduct quality control inspections to ensure proper repairs and adherence to project specifications.
- Experience:
5+ years in construction management, preferably in restoration or insurance-related projects. - Knowledge:
Familiarity with Xactimate and insurance estimating software. - Skills:
Strong negotiation, leadership, and problem‑solving abilities.
This role requires a proactive and detail‑oriented professional who can navigate insurance claims, manage construction teams, and ensure smooth project execution in a fast‑paced restoration environment.
