Part‑time Instructor (Pool) – Institute for National Security and Military Studies
Position Summary:
The Department of Criminal Justice and the Institute for National Security and Military Studies at Austin Peay State University are continuously taking applications for individuals seeking adjunct, or temporary instructor positions for all semesters. Instructors will be needed both in person and online for a wide range of subjects including, but not limited to, Intelligence Analysis, Research Methods, Security Analysis, National Security Foundations and Strategy, International Security Dynamics, Military Studies and Defense Policy, and International Law, Ethics, and Human Rights.
Responsibilities:
Teaching courses as assigned by the chair; maintaining the required teaching schedule and delivering course content in face‑to‑face, online, or hybrid/blended formats.

Required
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in National Security Studies, Intelligence Studies, Psychology, Political Science, Sociology, or other related fields; a Master’s degree in a related field must accompany 18 hours of graduate work in the area of national security.
- A background search will be required of the successful applicant.
Desired
Qualifications:
- Ability to teach a wide range of national security studies courses.
- Demonstrated experience teaching across various delivery methods (online, hybrid, face‑to‑face).
