Sediment Remediation Specialist (Engineer, Scientist, or Geologist)

• Understand scientific and engineering principles of modeling contaminant fate and transport through sediment caps in subaqueous systems (experience with Cap Sim preferred).
• Use CAD to develop drawings for contaminated sediment dredging and/or soil excavation projects, following directions from a senior engineer with minimal oversight.
• Perform slope stability modeling.
• Develop field sampling programs and conduct data analyses to support conceptual site models, mass balances, and understanding of fate and transport processes.
• Develop numerical or desktop models, calibrate and apply them.
• Evaluate feasibility of sediment remediation technologies and assist in design of remediation for large sites involving multiple stakeholders.
• Act as the primary interface with clients on complex sediment tasks, assessing problems and communicating technical strategy.

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of related experience (or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree).
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Preferred:
  Bachelor’s in Science, Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering.
• Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam within 18 months of hire.

United States – Nationwide. 10% travel required.

$82,576 - $136,240.
