Primary Role
Responsible for installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of electronic communication systems, including VOIP, SIP, computer and networking systems. Install and service systems efficiently to minimize downtime and maximize performance, and communicate system performance to the customer.
- Final hookup and programming of electronics equipment for new jobs.
- Respond promptly to customer service‑related issues.
- Test and document readings for customer systems.
- Update customer files.
- Troubleshoot and repair electronic components.
- Handle on‑call duties on a regular scheduled basis.
- Train and instruct customers on proper equipment use.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics and blueprints.
- Operate test equipment: volt meter, ohm meter, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, multimeter, impedance meter.
- Assist with preventive maintenance of customer equipment.
- Accurately track time sheets, service/installation tickets, inventory items, progress photographs.
- Safeguard and sign out spare parts, manuals and keys at project end.
- Manage and motivate technicians; act as onsite SWC representative when PM is unavailable.
- Ensure full compliance with company and customer safety programs.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- Two‑year electronics degree or equivalent education plus 1+ years related experience.
- Knowledge and experience in installation, testing and troubleshooting of equipment/systems.
- Preferred experience with VoIP, telephony, data networks, wireless data, fire alarm, CCTV, sound systems or nurse call applications;
Cisco and Microsoft certifications desirable. - Ability to install projects from engineering documents with minimal assistance.
- Manage small to large projects with little supervision.
- Minimum:
High school graduate; basic English proficiency and basic math skills; ability to read CAD‑generated prints, blueprints and riser diagrams; solid grasp of basic electronics/electrical theory; PC proficiency. - Preferred:
Associates degree in Electronics, IT or Computer Programming; NSCA CEST, NICET, RCDD, factory training.
Some out‑of‑town travel may be required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self‑motivated, organized, personable and customer‑service oriented.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work with diverse groups.
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Achieve SWC product certifications as needed.
Plan, organize and implement projects to meet deadlines.
Handle stressful situations effectively.
Read and interpret general business documentation.
Valid, current driver’s license.

- Moderate noise level in work environment.
- Occasional outdoor activities subject to seasonal temperatures.
