Job Overview
Beauty Advisor at Ulta Beauty delivers an exceptional retail experience by engaging guests, providing personalized product recommendations, handling sales transactions, and supporting in‑store events and services.
Key Responsibilities Performance- Meet or exceed store goals for retail and service sales, guest loyalty, omni‑channel sales, and retail shrink.
- Provide guest‑friendly service by greeting, engaging, and addressing each guest’s needs, and informing them of promotions and product benefits.
- Handle customer service, sales, refunds, exchanges, and online orders with courtesy.
- Perform makeup applications, skincare analyses, and product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance the guest experience.
- Book appointments and support execution of services and in‑store events that deliver an unrivaled guest experience while meeting sales goals.
- Stay informed about new and existing products, including ingredients and benefits, to better serve guests.
- Maintain consistent, punctual attendance.
- Contribute to an inclusive environment that supports teammates, peers, and guests.
- Share the benefits of the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
- Collaborate with managers and associates throughout the store to help grow the business.
- Participate in ongoing training, including brand and category education, to enable continuous professional development and drive sales performance.
- Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards.
- Adhere to Ulta Beauty’s dress code.
- Drive sales by keeping assigned work area replenished and ensuring testers are available.
- Maintain outstanding store standards and overall cleanliness of sales floor, restrooms, cash wrap, backroom, and break area.
- Participate in merchandise resets, planograms, marketing displays, inventory procedures, and shipment processing using Ulta Beauty’s technology.
- Protect company assets by following loss prevention best practices while providing exceptional guest service.
- Execute other operational tasks as directed.
- Education: High school diploma preferred.
- Experience: 1 year of relevant work experience or equivalent education and experience preferred.
- Skills:
• Passion for guest service and sales competency
• Proficiency with basic technology (Point of Sale systems, Apple devices)
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
• Troubleshooting ability
• Independent and team‑oriented work style - Special Position Requirements: Flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Continuous mobility throughout the store during shifts.
- Frequent standing, bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, and twisting.
- Continuous and/or frequent lifting, carrying, and moving up to 25 lbs.
- Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects.
