Correctional Security Guard - Ventress
Join the Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) at Ventress Correctional Facility in Clayton, Alabama.
Salary Information$33,066.80 - $55,375.20 Annually
$17.55 - $19.36 hourly
40-45 per week
8-hour shift
Morning and evening shifts
Overtime opportunities
Rotating weekends
This unarmed entry-level Correctional Security Guard monitors inmate behavior, manages access points, and conducts scheduled and unscheduled searches.
Responsibilities- Monitor inmate behavior from cubicles and common areas.
- Conduct visitor searches for contraband.
- Complete reports and record inmate work progress.
- Communicate with supervisors and promote rehabilitation.
- Perform other duties assigned by leadership.
- High school diploma or GED
- 18 years of age or older
- Non‑APOSTC; physical fitness test and firearms certification not required.
- U.S. Citizen at time of appointment.
- Valid driver's license or state identification card.
- Background investigation including fingerprint‑based criminal history and drug screening.
- No felony or domestic violence convictions.
