Location:

Clayton, Delaware.

Purpose:

Assist the service manager in maintaining accurate and on-time reports and records relative to the service department’s operation within the dealership. Answer customer inquiries about service work and generate repair quotes. Prepare and manage work orders to ensure technicians have work in front of them.

• Field internal and external customer inquiries to the Service Department.
• Open work orders as directed by the Service Manager and maintain control until they are closed and invoiced.
• Update customer profiles using equipment, hours, or other information from the customer work order.
• Provide guidance and generate quotes for customer machine repairs.
• Sell service labor and parts ensuring all techs are highly productive so that budgets and goals are met.
• Work with the Service Manager to identify and execute continuous process improvements.
• Communicate, enforce and monitor effective service department processes to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Review work orders for completeness and accuracy prior to customer billing; prior to Service Manager review.
• Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly fashion.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
• Maintain knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
• Complete other duties as assigned by the Service Manager.

• Previous involvement/experience in activities such as sales, service, training or other related work within a mechanical field.
• Experience with basic computer functions and accounting practices.
• Experience working cooperatively in a team environment.
• Excellent Customer Relationship Skills.
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience required.
