• Independently perform in-field equipment service, diagnostics and repairs by operating a mobile service vehicle and traveling to customer locations.
• Maintain current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
• Perform onsite service for customer units.
• Mentor Service Technician Trainees and Service Technicians.
• Conduct or support customer clinics.
• Perform diagnostics and repairs in the field as required.
• Accountable for billable time and assigned work orders.
• Responsible for complete and thorough documentation of diagnostics and repairs on work orders and timely submittal of information.
• May participate in John Deere University and Dealer Training programs as required for skill development.
• Operate and maintain vehicles, tools and equipment required to perform the job.

• Experience performing service repairs; demonstrated ability to meet performance metrics.
• Experience performing repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment; follow Technical Manual procedures.
• Experience with mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in off-road, construction, lawn, or heavy equipment.
• Experience operating vehicles, tools, and equipment for diagnostic purposes.
• Experience with basic computer functions; experience using Service ADVISOR or similar diagnostic tools is preferred.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team; effective verbal and written communication; adequate toolset to perform job responsibilities.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent;
  Associate degree preferred.
