OverviewWe are seeking a highly motivated Associate Litigation Attorney to join our team in a dynamic, in-person office environment. The Associate Litigation Attorney will assist in guiding clients through important legal decisions with clarity, compassion and integrity and work with our team to protect our clients’ interests through proactive counsel and vigorous advocacy. This role demands accountability, passion, excellent communication, strong writing skills, and a team-oriented mindset.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Work closely with our experienced litigation team to develop cases from investigation through trial.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to assist in the development of litigation strategies and the drafting of pleadings, motions, briefs, or other memoranda.
- Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, legal memoranda, and other filings throughout the pendency of a case.
- Review and analyze case documents and discovery materials to identify key facts, issues, and evidence.
- Handle court appearances including attending status conferences and arguing motions at hearings.
- Work directly with clients throughout the litigation process to protect and further their goals.
- Effectively communicate with clients, opposing counsel, experts and third parties involved in the litigation process.
- Take and defend depositions in accordance with case strategy.
- Assist and attend trials as needed.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in Missouri, in good standing.
- Minimum of 1 year of litigation experience.
- Collaborative team player with a proactive and positive attitude and willingness to work with others; plus, the ability to assume responsibility to handle tasks independently.
- Track record of accountability, a strong work ethic and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Exceptional ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and maintain assigned files.
- Strong writing, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with clients, colleagues, and court personnel.
- Desire to work with and learn from experienced litigation attorneys and to gain courtroom experience.
