* Build and implement new development tools and infrastructure to automate development and release processes, based on the needs of Libraries’ staff and other campus stakeholders, and communicate the needs to developers.
* Deploy updates and fixes to ensure systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats.
* Collaborate with campus-wide technology services to ensure proper implementation and management of hardware infrastructures, security policies and authentication/authorization procedures.
* Write and maintain documentation for systems architecture and application code for internal developers and the wider library development community.
* Participate in iterative testing and integration of user feedback throughout the development and implementation processes.
* Maintain awareness of national and international best practices and advances in library applications, frameworks, and implementations by actively engaging in library and research development communities.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

* Ability to move to on and off-campus locations.
* Unix/Linux and Windows servers, including server administration, shell scripting, networking, and web servers as well as cloud services, such as AWS or Azure.
* Client and server-side coding, server-side programming language and/or web framework (e.g., Ruby/Rails, PHP/Drupal, Python/WSGI, Java/Tomcat), and server-side technologies including Apache Solr, NGINX and/or Apache HTTP Server, Tomcat and/or Jetty, and Passenger.
* Supporting IT operations in an always-up, always-available service, and working in a collaborative team-based environment that requires strong interpersonal skills and communication with both IT and non-IT staff. Ability to write clear documentation.
* Knowledge of authentication and authorization technologies, including LDAP and SAML/Shibboleth, security best practices, and automation/configuration management/deployment tools, such as Ansible.
* Working with distributed version control, preferably Git/Github, for source code version control and collaboration, and SQL, MySQL and related database platforms, including management and deployment.
* Working with collaboration tools like Service Now and Jira, hardware virtualization environments such as VMware, and containerization technologies such as Kubernetes or Docker.
* Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage projects.
* Working in an academic or cultural institution environment.
* Knowledge of digital library metadata standards, such as Dublin Core, MARC, METS, EAD, and OAI-PMH.
* Up to 22 days of vacation, 10 recognized holidays, and sick time.
