SummaryThe HEPA Filter Certification Technician is responsible for the routine certification of HEPA Filters.
Primary Responsibilities- Perform routine HEPA filter certification
- measure airflow, differential pressure, perform filter inspection and integrity testing
- Repair or replace filters that do not meet acceptance criteria
- Perform airflow visualization on Class A filters
- Test compressed air, process air and nitrogen filters.
- Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System to document work performed
- Provide detailed documentation of all maintenance troubleshooting and repair activities.
- Communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal form.
- Adhere to cGMP, Safety and Environmental requirements
- Issue/complete job hazard analysis/safe work permits (hot work, excavating, confined space, hazardous atmosphere, etc.)
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures, job plans and/or equipment manuals to perform work
- Responsible for maintaining training matrix requirements.
- Assist with modification, installation and start up of new and existing instrumentation, process control systems and equipment
Tech 1
- Develop knowledge and skills needed perform job as required by the area of responsibility
- Assist with filter certifications
- Attend clean room testing training course
Tech 2
- Perform all responsibilities as defined in previous job level
- Perform filter certifications
- Repair and/or replace filters that don’t meet acceptance criteria
- Train and mentor new HEPA Certification technicians
- Supervise contracted service personnel
Tech 3
- Perform all responsibilities as defined in previous job level
- Schedule and plan filter certifications
- Complete paperwork to get create new or revise Assets/Locations and PMs in the CMMS
- Establish new filter criteria and PM frequencies
- Set up spare parts in the CMMS
Tech 1
- Communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal form
- Build positive working relationships with cross-functional teams across multiple business units
- Use personal computers and have experience with Window applications and Web based programs
- Read, interpret, and apply information from files, drawings, catalogs, reports, and manuals
- Demonstrate strong mathematical skills with the ability to apply this knowledge to the various tasks assigned.
- Understand current Good Manufacturing Practice requirements
- Understand industrial plant safety and environmental requirements
Tech 2
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities as defined in previous job level
- Knowledgeable of clean room testing theory
- Proficient in use of testing equipment
- Able to discern possible filter contamination
- knowledgeable of filter configuration to establish proper testing technique
- Knowledgeable of basic HVAC design and operation
Tech 3
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities as defined in previous job level
- Knowledgeable of appropriate test conditions and methods
- Understands how area equipment functions in process applications
- Experience with multiple maintenance crafts (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, piping, HVAC); with the ability to apply this knowledge to the complete, timely, technically-correct, cost-effective filter maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
- Proficiently use computerized maintenance management system to locate/identify replacement parts, coordinate multiple and interdisciplinary work requests, and investigate equipment repair history.
- Ability to support installation, startup and commissioning of Capital Projects.
- Knowledge and training as required by OSHA on applicable safe work practices and process safety management
