Visium Resources has been asked to identify qualified candidates for this Systems Engineer position in Clayton, NC. A Systems Engineer is needed to support a site expansion project at site in Clayton, NC. The ideal candidate will provide Tier 1-2 operational support as part of a cross-functional IT Infrastructure team, as well as assist in the maintenance & administration of IT systems and network.

The role will report to the IT Infrastructure Manager.

• Perform life‑cycle system development tasks for IT network & infrastructure systems.
• Operate infrastructure networks equipment/s under regulations & guidelines as they relate to computer‑based information & automation systems preferred.
• Adhere to IT Networking / Systems Infrastructure policies & procedures preferred.
• Responsibility for implementing IT network security preferred.
• Coordinates activities of IT Networking/infrastructure/Application teams preferred.
• Maintain network/infrastructure documentation in accordance with federal & corporate requirements preferred.

• Install, troubleshoot, diagnose & resolve issues with IT network devices (switches, routers, firewalls, WAPs, etc.) & infrastructure systems (Monitoring Tools, Network Management systems, etc.)
• Hands‑on setup & installation with hardware & software in server room (Microsoft / VMWare)
• Operate infrastructure networks equipment/systems under FDA regulations & guidelines as they relate to computer‑based information & automation systems
• Provide tier 1‑2 IT network support, including after‑hours
• Provide tier 1‑2 server administration/support for onsite virtual servers
• Provide tier 1 support of site ERP system, SAP, including iDOC monitoring, analysis, & resolution
• Liaison between Site end users & HQ end user support for site ERP system, SAP
• Provide ad‑hoc production support & after‑hours support to the site for IT related issues
• Maintain network/infrastructure documentation in accordance with corporate requirements
• Support backup/restore processes for manufacturing systems
• Interacts with equipment & service vendors for troubleshooting, installation, improving reliability &/or efficiency purposes

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field from an accredited university required.
• May consider an Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field from an accredited college and seven (7) years of experience implementing & administering networks in a medium to large enterprise environment and supporting Windows based virtual servers.
• Specific knowledge of networking principles & concepts preferred.
• Experience supporting Windows based virtual servers preferred
