Overview
Plantation Park Animal Hospital is a full-service hospital with innovative and progressive treatment options, including digital X-ray, low level laser therapy, in-house CBC and chemistry, chemotherapy, chiropractic, surgical suite and specialization in canine reproduction. Our hospital is open Monday–Friday, 8am–6pm, with two late nights a week. Monday and Thursday are open until 8pm to help clients with after-work urgent vet appointments.
We do not operate on weekends. We have a supportive staff including several tenured registered veterinary technicians, 30-minute appointments, dedicated lunches, and a positive working environment and culture.

Job duties and responsibilities are described below. This description reflects typical expectations and may be adjusted to meet the hospital’s needs.
Responsibilities- Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying stability.
- Administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment; comply with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
- Provide compassionate, client-focused communication and support for patients and families.
- Experienced Veterinary Assistant with a minimum of 1 year of experience preferred.
- Surgery experience preferred, including anesthetic monitoring.
- Compassionate, calm, team player, multi-tasker and strong communicator.
- Ability to properly restrain pets and obtain medical histories, process laboratory tests and radiographs; anesthesia monitoring is a plus.
- Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance knowledge and skills.
