Plantation Park Animal Hospital is a full‑service hospital with innovative and progressive treatment options, including digital X‑ray, low‑level therapy laser, full in‑house CBC, chemistry, chemotherapy, chiropractic, a surgical suite, and specialization in canine reproduction. Our hospital is open Monday‑Friday 8 am‑6 pm, with two late nights a week. Mondays and Thursdays are open until 8 pm to help clients with after‑work urgent vet appointments.

We encourage a great work‑life balance by not being open on weekends. We have an excellent support staff, including several tenured registered veterinary technicians, 30‑minute appointments, dedicated lunches, and a positive working environment and culture.

Located in Clayton, NC, a rapidly growing city within a 40‑minute drive of Raleigh‑Durham International Airport and an hour’s drive to Chapel Hill and Durham. The area offers excellent schools, dining, entertainment, and outdoor activities.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples
• Diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability
• Administration of medications and effective communication of treatment plans with clients
• Surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management
• Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises, exposure to bites, scratches, animal waste, and potentially contagious diseases
• Opportunities for virtual and hands‑on training and continuing development

• Minimum of 1 year experience as a Veterinary Assistant (preferred)
• Experience with surgeries, including anesthesia monitoring (preferred)
• Compassionate, calm, team player, multitasker, and strong communicator
• Ability to properly restrain pets
• Proficiency in sample collection, medical history taking, laboratory test and radiograph processing, and anesthesia monitoring (bonus)
• Self‑starter with a desire to continue advancing knowledge and skillset
