Fleet & Logistics Director – Construction – Raleigh, NC

The Fleet & Logistics Director is responsible for the strategic oversight, management, and optimization of all company vehicles, equipment, tools, and logistics operations across all regions. This role ensures safe, compliant, and cost-effective fleet operations while supporting project teams with timely mobilization and equipment availability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the entire fleet, maintenance, utilization, and replacement planning.
  • Manage equipment allocation to job sites across all divisions (Triangle, Greenville, Charleston, Virginia, etc.).
  • Implement fleet policies, safety standards, and compliance requirements (DOT, inspections, licensing).
  • Optimize routing, mobilization, and scheduling of equipment and materials to support project deadlines.
  • Collaborate with Safety, Payroll, Project Managers, and Recruiting on driver requirements, MVR compliance, and onboarding.
  • Maintain accurate fleet inventory, logs, maintenance schedules, and budgeting reports.
  • Work closely with leadership to forecast fleet needs based on upcoming projects and manpower demands.
  • Oversee fuel card programs, telematics, and vehicle assignment processes.
  • Manage vendors and coordinate repairs and warranty work.
  • Support accident investigations, claims, and corrective actions.
  • Lead and develop the Fleet & Logistics Team to ensure efficient operations across regions.
Qualifications
  • 5–7+ years of experience in fleet management, logistics, equipment management, or related field.
  • Experience in construction, utilities, or industrial environments strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, CDL requirements, safety compliance, and vehicle maintenance.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets, vendor contracts, and equipment forecasting.
  • Proficient in fleet software, GPS systems, and maintenance platforms.
