The Bulk Delivery driver is responsible for safely and efficiently operating diesel-powered tractor‑trailers to transport and deliver products or materials in packaged or palletised form to and from customer locations for local and regional distances following FMCSA regulations and Company policies. This position unloads pallets, relocates trailers, and interacts with customers and the sales team while ensuring excellent service.
Duties & Responsibilities- Perform pre‑shift activities: review work schedules, check equipment and supplies, ensure load accuracy, and prepare for operations.
- Conduct daily pre‑trip, post‑trip, and in‑route safety inspections to ensure safe operation of all equipment according to FMCSA regulations.
- Operate the tractor‑trailer safely and legally at all times, following all applicable laws and Company policy, and complete required paperwork for freight.
- Plan trips using maps, GPS, or written or verbal information to ensure efficient, legal, and on‑time pick‑up and delivery to meet scheduled door times, and record daily hours of service using an electronic log.
- Load and secure cargo against movement and damage, maintain seal control as required, and use electric pallet jacks or other means to load/unload freight at customer locations.
- Perform post‑shift activities: couple/uncouple trucks from trailers, adjust tandems, operate loading gear, open/close cargo doors, refuel, secure equipment, and complete all required paperwork.
- Read, write and communicate in English; understand FMCSA regulations.
- Obtain and maintain a valid FMCSA physical certification with interstate non‑exempt classification within 60 days.
- Obtain and maintain a valid Class A CDL for interstate driving with manual and automatic transmission within 60 days; permit timeline varies by location.
- Two (2) years of verifiable tractor‑trailer driving experience preferred.
- Sales experience preferred.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and use a pallet jack.
- Operate loading gear, open/close cargo doors, and climb on/off the vehicle safely.
- Use a hand‑held device that serves also as a cell phone.
- Willing to work varying shifts, including overnight and early morning.
- Knowledge acquired through 1 to up to 3 years of work experience.
- Valid driver’s license with excellent driving history; CDL required;
Hazmat certification where necessary.
