Key Responsibilities
  • Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests promptly, respond to questions courteously, recommend additional items, highlight promotions and the trade‑in program, and express gratitude to every guest.
  • Support the overall shopping environment, managing visual and operational elements and nurturing guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
  • Process guest purchases and returns accurately via the POS system, ensuring top‑notch service.
  • Answer phone calls promptly and professionally, addressing guest comments in person or on the phone.
  • Promote Game Stop’s unique guest benefits, such as the title reservations program and the Pro Rewards loyalty program.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and merchandised store, including restrooms, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Complete Omni‑Channel orders daily.
  • Safeguard company assets through effective inventory control, loss prevention practices, and bank deposits as required.
  • Conduct inventory counts, stock/restock merchandise, and ensure all products are represented on the sales floor.
  • Assist store management in meeting and exceeding sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties.
  • Reconcile daily business transaction totals accurately in the POS system and manage closeout paperwork and bank deposits.
  • Check shipments for discrepancies, record findings, and report to management as needed.
  • Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately and promptly.
  • Inspect associates' and leaders' packages and belongings at store closing or the end of a shift.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates in the absence of management.
  • Follow all opening and closing procedures and consistently adhere to Game Stop policies and procedures.
  • Observe associate performance and provide timely feedback to store management.
Qualifications
  • Proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 1 year of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
  • Video game knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to work alone, stand, and move throughout the store unassisted for up to 10 hours per day.

  • Operate the POS computer system and complete required paperwork accurately.
  • Basic math skills and alphabetizing skills.
  • Self‑motivation and teamwork to complete tasks promptly.

  • Follow written, oral, or diagram instructions.
  • Deliver bank deposits following loss‑prevention safety guidelines.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays, with a minimum of 3 days/week availability.
  • Remain effective under pressure and handle stress appropriately.
  • Perform physical tasks: bend, stoop, reach, climb ladders, lift merchandise up to 30 lbs., and stand/move within the store for up to 10 hours per day.

Compensation

$11.50 - $14.25 per hour
