As a Center Aide Substitute, you will work under the guidance of an Education Specialist to support classroom activities, maintain safe playgrounds, and foster the health, safety, and school readiness of young learners. Multiple location assignments within the center may occur, providing a versatile and dynamic work environment.

• Adhere to all supervision, safety, and health policies and procedures.
• Actively supervise and engage with children, ensuring their safety and well‑being while collaborating closely with teachers.
• Foster a supportive environment where children develop appropriate behaviors individually and in groups.
• Promote physical, social/emotional, cognitive, and language development through culturally and developmentally appropriate curriculum.
• Create a classroom environment defined by positive, warm, caring, and respectful interactions.
• Demonstrate awareness of children’s emotional, physical, and educational needs, fostering freedom of expression and autonomy.
• Collaborate with teachers to engage children in activities that offer ongoing learning opportunities.
• Encourage bilingualism and biliteracy as strengths and support dual‑language learners.
• Promote learning through interaction with nature and the natural environment.
• Assist in implementing suitable learning activities for children with IFSPs and IEPs.
• Use proper grammar, maintain an appropriate voice level, and speak clearly when modeling language.
• Support classroom sanitation and cleaning schedules.
• Ensure compliance with CACFP rules, maintaining sanitation during mealtimes and following family‑style meal service guidelines.
• Accept feedback and act on recommendations from supervisors and advisors, proactively seeking training or assistance when required.
• Perform physical caregiving tasks safely, including lifting children, changing diapers, feeding infants, and assisting with floor activities.

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Entry‑level position open to candidates with or without prior education or experience; enthusiasm to work with children, including those with special needs or limited English proficiency, is essential.
• Physical demands: extended walking, standing, kneeling, crouching, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable with floor activities, crawling, running, and caring for children aged 0‑5.
• Proficiency in Spanish and English is a plus.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; a CDA within six months, AA in Early Childhood Education, or a related field is advantageous.
• Current CPR, First Aid, and Food Handler’s permits required or to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
