Project Engineer 3/4 - R | Northrop Grumman | Clearfield, UT
OverviewAt Northrop Grumman Space Systems, we are seeking a Principal/Sr. Principal Project Engineer responsible for the technical execution of the continued manufacturing and support, including modernization, of the Fleet Ballistic Missile hardware produced at the Clearfield, UT Facility.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with subject experts to manage and facilitate project technical requirements.
- Disseminate data and information, reduce risk, and realize opportunities to support program goals within complaint procedures and standards.
- Coordinate daily with on-site customers at the working group level.
- Serve as a recognized subject matter expert, applying ingenuity and creativity on a daily basis.
- Report to the project manager.
- Technical excellence, collaboration/teamwork, and trustworthiness are required.
- Ability to see the larger picture for the system as a whole.
- Develop advanced technological ideas and guide development into final product within requirements.
- Experience with ePIC, ETM, MRB, configuration management, technical writing (test plans and reports), and change board presentations.
- Participation in problem analysis boards.
- Ability to function timely in a matrixed construct and self‑manage a dynamic demanding workload.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics discipline from an accredited university.
- 5 years of experience with BS; 3 years with Masters; 0 years with PhD.
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain a DOD Secret clearance.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics discipline from an accredited university.
- 8 years of experience with BS; 6 years with Masters; 4 years with PhD.
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain a DOD Secret clearance.
- Experience in VSET leadership, Quality Engineering, Design Engineering, or Process Ownership.
- Preferred candidate has experience in a government contractor environment.
- Detailed scope/schedule/budget planning skills.
- Configuration Management experience and certification.
