It Cybersecurity Specialist; Network​/Infosec

This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.

It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA Global Field Command, Operations Division (DG3).

• Serves as a Battle Captain overseeing the execution of Command and Control of Defense Information Systems Network Transport, Defensive Cyber Operations, and key mission areas supporting Mission Partners, and warfighters across the globe.
• Provide leadership, advice, guidance, planning, prioritization, development, management, training, and coordination to watch floor personnel.
• Monitors Defense Information Systems Network health to create a timely and efficient resolution of network issues, and provides timely, accurate and relevant information/updates to impacted leadership, customers and the DISA Joint Operations Center.
• As a Battle Captain, oversees a team of IT experts by leading and managing the personnel assigned to the shift. Provides guidance and direction to shift personnel to accomplish the DISA Global Field Command mission.

• In accordance with the DoD 8140 policy series, the position is subject to completing Foundational Qualifications in 9 months and completing Residential Qualification requirements overall in 12 months.

• This position requires a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.
• This position has been designated as "Mission Essential." Incumbent will be required to report to work or relocate to a new duty location, within the United States, in times of local/national emergency.
• This position requires the incumbent to occasionally travel away from their normal duty station to other locations within the continental United States (CONUS).
• This is a drug test position requiring pre-employment and random drug testing.
