Our Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking an Aircraft Structures Mechanic Level 3 to join our operations team, working on major assembly structures such as fuselage panels and bulkheads, and structural subassemblies such as rudders, flaps, and stabilizers. Only external candidates and NG employees who are not currently aircraft structures mechanics at the Clearfield site will be considered under this requisition.

Position Requirements and What You’ll Get To Do are listed below.

• Aligning parts on jigs using templates and fixtures
• Performing part-fitting operations such as filing, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming
• Measuring parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions
• Modifying incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes to structure
• Monitoring and verifying quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures

• At least four years of experience working on aircraft with a complete understanding of the detailed aspects of the job and practical applications to problems
• Limited supervision with few instructions for routine work and general instructions on new activities or special assignments
• May assist in orienting, training, assigning and checking the work of lower-level employees

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) with at least 4 years of relatable aircraft experience in manufacturing/production (or similar)
• Ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work, including lifting over 25 pounds, working with chemicals, prolonged overhead work, climbing ladders, kneeling, bending, stooping, carrying tools, testing for and wearing a respirator, and working in awkward and/or confined spaces
• DoD Secret Security Clearance and special program access required to start, but not required to apply
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, technical manuals, written instructions, test procedures, etc.
• Ability to work flexible, changing shifts, including weekends
• Must complete and pass the “ASTAR New Hire Training / Compliance” within a reasonable time period as defined by the company

• Active DoD Secret level security clearance
• A&P License
• Previous composite, manufacturing, or production experience
• Demonstrated ability using standard measuring equipment and power hand tools
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical specifications and operating procedures

Salary range:
Primary Level Salary Range: $24.62 - $41.06. This range is a general guideline; actual offers depend on scope, responsibilities, candidate experience, education, and market conditions. Overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses may apply depending on the position.
