With moderate supervision, the Retail Keyholder assists the store management team in executing and supervising all store activities. They provide outstanding guest service experiences within a sales culture that utilizes elements of Game Stop's Circle of Life buy, sell, trade, and reservation business model. This position ensures products are easily accessible and purchasable, boosts sales by sharing product and gaming knowledge with guests, maintains a clean and organized shopping environment, and fosters guest loyalty and repeat business.
Responsibilities- Provide best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests, respond to guest questions and concerns promptly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests in meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests about special promotions and the trade-in program; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during each transaction; and express gratitude to every guest for choosing Game Stop. Prioritize guests over tasks and circulate throughout the store to demonstrate this commitment.
- Support the overall shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, and nurture guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
- Process guest purchases and returns accurately via the Point-of-Sale (POS) computer system, ensuring top-notch guest service.
- Address guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; answer phone calls promptly, courteously, and professionally to ensure every guest receives top-notch service.
- Promote Game Stop’s guest benefits, such as the title reservations program and the Pro Rewards guest loyalty program.
- Maintain a clean, organized store and ensure store fixtures and equipment are in proper working order; ensure restrooms are clean and merchandised according to company guidelines.
- Complete Omni-Channel orders daily.
- Safeguard company assets through inventory control and loss prevention practices, including scam awareness and safety best practices; perform bank deposits as required.
- Conduct store inventory counts, stock/restock merchandise on shelves and fixtures, and move products from the stock room to the selling floor to ensure all products are represented and organized.
- Support store management in meeting and exceeding sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative and operational duties.
- Count, balance, and reconcile daily transaction totals in the POS system; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposit slips accurately; assist management in ensuring the store has sufficient cash and change; make daily bank deposits following established guidelines.
- Check shipments for discrepancies or shortages and record any discrepancies in the POS system; report discrepancies to the Store Manager as needed.
- Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls promptly, ensuring boxes are properly labeled with packing lists.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates in the absence of management.
- Adhere to Game Stop policies and procedures, including the Associate Handbook and the Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.
- Follow opening and closing procedures and observe associate performance, providing timely feedback to store management.
- Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
