Job Summary- Exempt:
No - The O.R. Staff Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients across the age spectrum within the Surgical Services Department; supervises and coordinates care planning with other disciplines.
- O.R. Staff Nurse-R.N. Float Nurse ------ Director of Peri-operative Services
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Credentials in area of practice preferred, such as CNOR, PANAC, and AAOPU for Outpatient.
- Initial certification in American Heart Association BLS and recertification every two years.
- ACLS required within six months of employment and recertified every two years.
- PALS required within six months for Med/Surg, Perioperative Services and ICU; recertified every two years.
- All BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certified personnel must familiarize themselves with the crash cart.
- Current California RN license.

- Must conform with HIPAA and other confidentiality regulations.
- Equipment used frequently: cell phone, computer, telephone/voicemail system, laser printer, monitors, glucometer, IV, PCA and epidural pumps, blanket warmers; occasionally: photocopier, fax machine.

Protective measures should be used. - Job requires frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, arms above shoulder height, standing, talking, hearing, repetitive hand motions, transferring patients, pull lift of 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
- Adheres to the Corporate Compliance Code of Conduct.
- Serves Adolescents, Adults, Geriatric. Demonstrate age-specific knowledge and skills.
- Functions as scrub, circulating or float nurse in the operating room as assigned.
- Maintains professional, dignified atmosphere within the unit.
- Maintains expectations on time for competencies, license, certifications and education requirements.
- Uses hospital-wide and departmental policies and procedures, departmental objectives.
- Participates in site identification process and time out on each case.
- Participates in performance improvement program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
- Provides optimal physical and emotional environment for the patient.
- Rotational assignments to PACU, Outpatient endoscopy Unit, and Central Service as assigned.
- Share call duty as required.
- Willingly performs other duties and innovations as assigned.
