Estimator
The Estimator will be responsible for bidding large commercial/industrial perimeter security projects around the state of Florida. This role will also be assigned local leads provided by SFC. For local leads, the estimator will schedule appointments to meet with the customer, review the scope of work while taking field measurements, and price the scope of work accordingly. The Estimator will be responsible for following up on all opportunities and closing the deal.
All opportunities will be recorded in a personal log, which will be managed and tracked by the individual.

Job Duties & Responsibilities- Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
- Review and quote a high volume of ITB’s (invitation to bid)
- Contact customers to go through any applicable questions regarding the project needs.
- Maintain contact and follow up with customers to close on quoted opportunities.
- Review new installations with Field Operations Team.
- Call in underground locates if applicable.
- Continually update project information as needed.
- Actively contribute to the team.
- Associates and/or Bachelor’s degree is preferred
- Estimating experience in commercial and/or industrial construction projects
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
- Utilize a smart phone, and can lean and utilize SFC software systems, estimating programs for take offs and reading blueprints like Blue Beam, Procore. Auto Cad is a plus.
- Familiar with searching through bid board sites to vet potential projects (i.e. Dodge Report, Building Connected, Demand Star, Open Gov.).
- Ability to interpret construction plans and specifications.
- High attention to detail and organization skills.
- Familiar with change orders, shop drawings, and submittal process.
- Outstanding and professional oral, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical skills and detail oriented.
- Self-motivated with the ability to coordinate work independently and as part of a team.
- Hard‑working individual, who possesses leadership attributes and is trainable.
- Must pass a background check, drug test, have an adequate driving record and be approved by SFC company insurance.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in a construction environment. Some safety protective equipment will be required if/when performing duties out on the field.
