Job Summary
We’re seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator to join our estimating team under the direct supervision of the Director of Estimating. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in providing accurate cost estimates for our projects, ensuring our continued success in the industry.
Primary Responsibilities- Thoroughly review construction documents, including drawings and specifications, to accurately assess project scope for bidding purposes.
- Conduct detailed take‑offs of construction documents and input data into computer spreadsheets.
- Source material pricing and gather subcontractor bids as needed.
- Collaborate closely with our bid team to maintain project timelines and requirements.
- Communicate any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or databases to the immediate supervisor.
- Attend departmental meetings as required.
- Prepare cost analysis in computer by incorporating material, labor, equipment, subcontractor and overhead costs incurred in the installation of items.
- Where predetermined standard(s) are not available, make an estimate.
- Develop and maintain resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc.
- Value‑engineer electrical jobs as necessary.
- Demonstrate leadership skills to grow the department.
- Education:
High School Graduate, GED or equivalent. - Experience:
3‑5 years Accubid experience required. - Experience:
At least 2 years of experience in construction estimating is a plus. - Experience with EV projects, light electrical rollout projects, lighting retrofits, electrical, lighting, and signage maintenance contracts, and signage installs.
- Proficient in reading and understanding architectural, civil, and electrical blueprints.
