. Key components of the role include:
- Overview: The Medical Director will collaborate closely with leaders from Bay Care’s Clinical Institutes to focus on building and expanding a comprehensive, system-wide strategy for delivering cutting-edge cancer treatment across Bay Care Health System, positioning the Bay Care Cancer Institute as a hub of excellence.
- Clinical Practice: The clinical component is integrated with Bay Care Medical Group, the largest physician‑led group in Tampa Bay. We seek a highly-skilled, board-certified Medical Oncologist or Surgical Oncologist
. - Program Development & Market Competitiveness: Lead initiatives to grow and enhance cancer services, ensuring the institute remains at the forefront of innovation, patient outcomes, and market presence.
- Academic & Teaching Opportunities: Serve as a mentor and educator by teaching residents through an academic affiliation with Northwestern University. A faculty appointment is available.
- Research: Drive oncology research initiatives by partnering with Northwestern University and Bay Care’s research infrastructure. The Medical Director will collaborate with oncologists and research leaders facilitating access to innovative trials and advancing cancer treatment.

Qualifications- Clinical Experience – minimum 10 years
- Executive Leadership Experience in a healthcare setting – minimum 2 years
- Masters – Healthcare Administration or Business Administration is preferred
- Board Certification by The American Board of Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology and Hematology or Board Certification by The American Board of Surgery
- Ability to obtain a Florida Medical License
