Overview
Description: The Lead Teacher plays a critical role in delivering high-quality, individualized instruction to students with autism and related learning needs. This position requires a compassionate, dedicated, and highly organized educator who can create a structured yet nurturing learning environment. The Lead Teacher is responsible for designing and implementing lesson plans aligned with school curriculum and individual student goals, managing classroom support staff, and collaborating with families and multidisciplinary teams to promote student success across academic, social-emotional, and life skills domains.
Responsibilities- Provide high-quality, individualized instruction for students with autism and related learning needs.
- Design and implement lesson plans aligned with school curriculum and individual student goals.
- Manage classroom support staff and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Collaborate with families to promote student success across academic, social-emotional, and life skills domains.
- Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field
- Experience working directly with children with autism or related disabilities (minimum 2 years preferred)
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth
- Preferred Qualifications: Valid Florida Teaching Certificate (Exceptional Student Education or related endorsement preferred)
- Experience with ABA principles, positive behavior support strategies, or therapeutic collaboration
