DMD & Company is seeking Structural Engineers to join our Clearwater, Florida office. This position offers the opportunity to work on a broad range of building types while collaborating closely with experienced engineers and project managers in a team-oriented environment.
Primary Responsibilities- Perform structural computations for the analysis and design of concrete, steel, masonry, and other structural systems
- Develop, analyze, and interpret 2D and 3D structural analysis models
- Establish and verify complete gravity and lateral load paths in accordance with applicable building codes
- Calculate design loads based on governing codes and standards
- Assist with the preparation of construction documents, including structural drawings, details, quantities, specifications, reports, and technical memoranda
- Support construction administration activities, including site visits, shop drawing and submittal reviews, and responses to RFIs
- Prepare technical studies, evaluations, and structural assessment reports as required
This role requires close coordination with internal structural engineering teams and project managers. The successful candidate must be comfortable working within established standards and quality control procedures and demonstrate a proactive, client-focused, and solutions-oriented approach.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering
- 4–8 years of relevant structural engineering experience
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the candidate’s state of residence (Florida preferred or ability to obtain)
- Experience with structural analysis and design software such as Revit, Tekla Structural Designer, RAM, ETABS, and Enercalc; familiarity with additional structural software is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
