The Role You'll Play to Create Success

We are excited to announce the Sr. Construction Defect Claims Representative position, offering many opportunities! This role involves adjusting the most complex construction defect claims in our inventory and helping establish the most effective strategies for handling these claims.

  • Investigate, evaluate, and resolve complex construction defect claims, many of which are litigated and involve large projects, in accordance with claim handling standards and regulations.
  • Understand construction defect coverage issues, handle related coverage questions, and manage processes such as Florida Chapter 558 and issuing legal notices.
  • Interpret construction contracts and apply risk transfer strategies when appropriate.
  • Negotiate risk timelines and defense obligations with insurers as needed.
  • Manage litigation proactively, collaborating with defense counsel and insureds for optimal outcomes.
  • Utilize resolution techniques like high-low agreements and settlement proposals effectively.
  • Respond promptly to demands, complaints, and regulatory notices, including Civil Remedy Notices.
  • Review and analyze damage reports to assess property and construction defect damages accurately.
  • Negotiate early resolutions through mediations and other dispute resolution forums.
  • Maintain appropriate reserves, prepare detailed reports, and document all claim activities thoroughly.
  • Assist, train, and mentor less experienced team members and contribute to process improvements.
  • Collaborate across departments and perform other duties as assigned.
  • The Attributes We Seek

    Success in this role requires extensive knowledge of construction defect claims, insurance policies, and regulatory frameworks across 48 states. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required; a Juris Doctorate is a plus. Candidates should have at least 10 years of relevant claims adjusting experience, with proper licenses in Florida, Texas, and other states, and be prepared to obtain additional licenses as needed.
