* Build strong client, industry, and technical community relationships and represent Apex Systems as leaders in Industry and Professional events and communities. Develop and maintain strong internal and external customer relationships.
* Demonstrate expert-level technical knowledge, skills, and effective professional consulting skills. Serve as a subject matter expert. Build trust and respect among internal and external stakeholders and model collaborative teamwork.
* Evaluate the culture and structure of the organization, collaborate with client staff to establish long[1]term vision and guiding principles, identify obstacles and impacts of initiatives, and create strategies that ensure successful implementation.
* Manage the day-to-day engagement delivery including Engagement Kick-off (Launch) process, EDRM review, financial and risk management, sales and engagement practice support, and manage client expectations in conjunction with Solution Sales Lead
* Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and risks from project initiation to closeout, ensuring all deliverables are met in alignment with the Statement of Work.
* Manage contracts, monitor expenditures, and ensure efficient use of county resources.
* Ensure project compliance standards meet local, state, and federal regulations as well as prepare reports and presentations for leadership and public meetings.
* Develop metrics and track/evaluate performance of projects, services and initiatives. Develop workflows, dashboards, metrics, and reports to provide the teams with meaningful operational/performance metrics and status reports.
* Maintain detailed project records and provide regular updates to department heads and elected officials.
* Leverage project management software and county systems to track project progress and manage workflows.
* Demonstrate professional level consulting skills, leadership skills, and executive-level communication/presentation skills. Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility to acquire skills to meet business needs.
* Continually innovate, seek creative solutions, and find new ways of adding value. Listen and seek to understand the client and meet their needs, proactively provide solutions, and approach adversity with a consultative, solution-focused mindset.
* Stay attuned to the future needs of the client and work with internal resources to identify opportunities. Participate in sales pursuits by providing strategic guidance, estimates, scoping and other pre-sales activities.
* 5+ years of relevant experience in project and program management, preferably in government or public sector (including all project methodologies).
* Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Project Management, Engineering, or related field, Master’s Degree a plus.
* PMP, CAPM, or equivalent certification preferred.
* Strong understanding of municipal operations, procurement processes, and regulatory compliance.
* Experience supervising and leading teams.
* Proficient in project management tooling (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Primavera, etc.).
* Experience managing capital improvement projects or public infrastructure projects preferred.
* Familiarity with Florida state and local government regulations preferred.
* Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills preferred.
* Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities preferred.
