Reports to:
Executive Director or Operations Director of School Age Programs. FLSA:
Exempt. Leader Level: Team Leader. Salary Range: $44,500 annually. Supervises:
Youth Development Director and Volunteers.
This position is responsible for supporting the general administration of School Age Programs for before and after school care at selected school sites. The role includes training and orientation of all School Age Program Staff in the region by serving at training sites, day‑to‑day general administration, ensuring safety of all children, staff supervision, budgeting, expense control, income generation, program development and quality control, community relations, collaborations, long‑range planning and facility maintenance.
The Youth Development Program Management Director also provides direction and leadership for the achievement of Association goals in accordance with the policies, procedures and standards established by the Board.
Direct and administer total operation of the School Age Program sites assigned including interpretation and execution of established policies, development of procedures and methods, staffing, evaluation of program effectiveness, and operation. Assure a wide variety of programs and activities are provided that maximize the site, support the cause and enhance program participants. Create a nurturing and safe environment by reporting suspicious activity that may lead to child abuse or violate the code of conduct.
Ensure safety and maintenance of high quality facilities, grounds, and equipment by keeping supplies organized, maintaining and cleaning facility, and caring for equipment. Promote and monitor membership growth and retention. Ensure activities are safe, engaging and age‑appropriate. Review all records and data on each child, employee and volunteer to maintain accuracy. Handle all emergency incidents and submit proper documentation.
Recruit, hire, supervise and develop department staff and volunteers using Leadership Competency Model resources. Lead and/or participate in a branch related committee(s). Support Y Community Champions efforts and assist with staff training to include YMCA programs, services and customer service skills.
FinancePrepare annual site budget for approval by Executive Director. Recommend adjustments and administer the budget, exercising necessary expense controls and revenue production. Provide monthly variance reports to Executive Director. Manage weekly fee collection and report weekly balances to Executive Director.
Community DevelopmentRepresent and promote the YMCA in the local community and develop positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities. Promote and communicate the objectives and programs of the YMCA through public communication media. Actively participate in a community committee(s).
Financial DevelopmentIncorporate storytelling to advance mission and cause. Participate in Annual Campaign efforts, identify and recruit Annual Campaign volunteers, and lead or participate in branch special events for fundraising or mission advancement.
Operating ValuesServe as a member of School Age Program management and support the branch and association objectives. Teach, role model and promote SMART behavior. Establish positive rapport with children, parents, volunteers and staff.
